New Radiohead Album?

So they released their album In Rainbows last week for "pay what you want" download. I.e. go to their site, type in a dollar amount (including $0) and you can download it. I think it's probably a good way to deal with the internet downloading scene.

As for the album itself, I'm not sure what to think. It sounds a bit like a watered down version of Hail to the Thief, though I can hear the reprise of the guitar from Ok Computer in some of the songs. None of the tracks really stand out as exemplary though, while the rest of their albums all have multiple tracks which I've loved. I think a few more listens might help.

I've only listened to the first 2 songs.. I got it tonight, I just torrented it to be honest..

Nude was very good though..

A few more listens will certainly help, mr.EEX_ca_aok. I like it better than *Hail to the Thief*, but I would love it ayway, given that they kicked the music companies in the face.

P.S. Nothing can ever top The Bends.

It doesn't top The Bends Only Ok Computer even comes close to doing that.

Personally I like Bodysnatchers/Reckoner/Weird Fishes. 15 Step is ok as well. To me the rest of it really sounds like Hail to the Thief without the crazy time signatures and abstract noises that kept things musically interesting.

I listened to it the day it was out, and it's alright if not good. I'm just not a huge Radiohead fan.

i haven't and i probably won't for some reason. i just don't feel like radiohead anymore...

i give it an 8/10 if music can be quantifiable. better than amnesiac. about the same as hail to the thief. not nearly as good as the bends or ok computer.
