It wasn't suppose to be used to scam. Though, it doesn't really have any other use, but it used to drop everyone in the game, but R1CH released a dropprotect.

It's not hack that makes them drop all their items. It's a game/proximity crash.

When you click the "special areas" in act 2, anyone around you (and yourself if you don't have some kind of drop-protection) will get a game error and crash.

It's up to you to decide what to do with that power.

I dont understand still, really im a dumbass, do the items drop automaticlly or what and do there items and your items drop ?

People are using this during "drop" trades, ie they offer to trade a sorc torc for your pally torch, or they offer to give you an annhilus charm for a ist rune. They pick a location, ie act 2 (somewhere close to the places u can click to crash the game) and both parties drop the for trade. (You have to drop the item because gheeds/annhilus/torch cannot be put into the trade window) Then both parties run for the other's item.

This gets more risky when trading an item that must be dropped for an item that does not, ie torch 4 rune. Where as when you start running the other party if quick enough can double back and get their item and run for yours.

Where the drop hack comes in is once you drop the item they click and crash the game, if they have drop protection they won't get booted from the game. Thus you are kicked from the game and they pick up both items, or have a buddy on standby to join the game and nab your item.

well. i am going to try that out just because in 1.10 i got enigma scammed twice, so now i have some power, but i think everyone already knows about this, but ill give it a try.

OK, can anyone tell me what the error is when you are affected by this drophack? I haven't been scammed with it or anything (mostly because I don't do drop trades) But just last night diablo crashed several times. Each time was the same, the game would freeze and id have to alt+tab out to click the checkbox saying D2 encountered an error.

The RGX crash causes a D2 error box, "HALT: Unrecoverable Internal Error, #6FA01234" or something similar to that. http://r-1.ch/dropprotect-1.0.zip will protect you from it. Note that the version on my site is incompatible with RGX mod - if you use RGX mod with my dropprotect.dll, you will still drop. This is to hopefully reduce the amount of scammers using it.

Yeah that sounds like what ive been getting, what a pisser. I mean its one thing to be scamming people I guess if you're into that It's another to just randomly go around crashing games... Who knows maybe I pissed someone off and they are stalking me
