first you need to see if you even have a connection

Start > Run > type CMD and press enter

from there type IPConfig and see if you even have anything connected

if not, you found you rproblem, probably have to call the ISP provider for tech support and get it back online [probably having to reset router/modem]

if so, then you need to type Ping www.yahoo.com and see if it sends or if it fails, if it sends, then you ARE connected to the net and its just spyware blocking out everything or a virus of some type [this probably isnt going tohappent hough]

if not, then once again, you need to contact your ISP for tech support.

try downloading [from your computer] avg and spyware both with updates, and install and run them on your friends computer, adaware alone doesnt clean out a computer, it does a good job, but to get all the junk you need to run multiple programs multiple times. normally i run adaware, spybot, and avg/avast, then re-run them over and over in that order until all 3 come up clean in the same round, normally takes 2 rotations to clean my computer.
