Need some help with Diablo 2.. cant run it

Just started Diablo 2 after a long break. My comp was stripped and pretty much remade. I installed Diablo II and LoD no problem..but when i tried to download the patch it would go through, boot me off and it wouldnt let me back in, whats up with it?

Try downloading the patch directly from the Blizzard site. That may work. If you already tried that or it does not work I'm not exactly sure what is wrong without more information.

William, Trying to download from the site now..Thanks. (Everything opens fine, until I get the patch downloaded, I try to open Diablo II nothing happens though, just sits there..)
