Need help with AI

Hey, this might sound crazy, but i need some help with getting computer units to attack a building. I mean, it works fine when im using the ORDER trigger to command the unit to attack, but when theres an enemy unit nearby the building, the fool of an AI goes staright for the enemy unit.
I think i would need to access the files that contain the attacking scheme of the AI, but i dont think that that's possible.
Does anyone kno a better soloution to this problem? :(

i got solution

what u do is put a location over the building you are having the ai attacking and then in the triggors have an order for atttack location whatever you call it not mass attack it should work if it dosnt then i dont kno what to say srry

A possible idea...

Can the building belong to a different comp player?

If so, make the attacking comp allied to you, and have the comp with the building his enemy.

It should ignore you, as far as retaliation, but it may run from you, when you attack.

At least it should save having to change an AI script.

Thanks for your soloution, KernalKiller, I've tried it, but it just tells the AI to attack to the destinaion, not the specific unit(building). Wot i need is to make the AI prioritise its attack scheme, so that it wants to attack buildings more than units...it should take out all the buildings it sees first, and ignore all the other units either standing their, or attacking it.

Crookedfoot-yes thats also a good idea, but the problem is, that the buildings will need to be defended by the owner of the building himself... (baisically, no, the building has to belong to the same player as the defender) Thanks for your reply tho :)

i dont get it...So ur saying i should use two ORDER triggers, one moving it to the location and the other attacking the same location?

ill try it.....

Nope, it didnt work....the unit just sat there. didnt even bother to attack anything. weird.

I think what CerebralChain had in mind would be to order the troops to move to the location of the building.
When they get to the location of the building, set up a seperate order to attack that location.

But, they will still choose to attack an armed enemy over a building, if the enemy is in range, and especialy if they are being attacked by them.

I don't think adjusting the AI will be your cure to this situation.
My understanding is that the AI only affects the building order, upgrade order, when they will attack, and how hard.

If you get this figured out, let us know, it sounds like a good challenge.

I can only think of one soloution for this, and i think its my best....

The only way to make a unit ignore another unit, is to have the defending unit invincible. I guess that there should be a location following the attacking unit, making every defending unit invincible inside the location, but vulnerable outside ONLY when theres a building in there too. This will make the defending units un-attackable, and so, the nearest vulnerable unit would have to be the building.

Yes, thats a good one....BUT, i swear to god, there IS an AI that prioritizes the attack schemes....ive seen it done.

Wot waz his name?....CBWhiz or somthin like that....The creator of Archon tag -Hard CPU- . Play the game, and u'll notice that the archon always goes for the buildings, even when the probe is on the other side, in plain sight of the archon. THATS wot makes his map unique to all the other archon tag games...
