I don't know really, with no AGP slot you're kinda way off the pace of FFX2.....

You could do with getting a new motherboard and a GeForce2 MX-400 or GeForce4 MX-440.

The one you showed me is AGP.

Do you think that one could handle it.

if your gonna play FFXI your gonna have at LEAST AT LEAST a

Geforce4 MX 400/440 you dont wanna play that game with lag man...let alone you need alot of ram and a high processor to run it as smooth as possible either....

i suggest
at least 5 gigs of room left on your harddrive
2ghz + for processor
Geforce4 MX 400/440 or you can sell drugs for a bit and get a Radeon 9000 somethin for about 500+ bux
and have 512 SD or DR...or whatever its called ram
then it will run smoothly...alot of people had to buy new computers because of that game so i hear...never tried myself

Im not saying that it wasnt mislabeled, but Geforce 2 MX cards didnt use ddr...and even the ti cards maxed out at 64mb ddr, there was no such thing as a geforce 2 with 128mb ddr...

Your rig is great, but you not having an AGP slot really hurts you. You are most likely going to have to play in low/medium details. You would be better of upgrading your motherboard but if you insist on getting a PCI card go with this one, or a Radeon 9200 128MB PCI.

Yeah, the 5200's too pricey for him...

The MX440 posted above is made either PCI or AGP. Stores usually hold both versions, from what I've seen. The Radeon 9200 shouldn't be too expensive either. For both cards, the PCI versions are a bit more expensive than the AGP versions.

KillerMe you would give your system what it deserves by buying a new motherboard and then saving up for a new AGP video card. It will be like night and day if you do this. Trust me. :)

What does that mean? I don't really wanna spend that much money, to play FFXI. I mean, I'm already paying a lot for it (I'm getting it for PS2 as well, pleas don't ask why). The only other real online game I play is CS, which I can handle fine now.

In fact, the PS2 version would cost about the same. It's $100 for the game w/ HD. The PC version is $50, but then I also need a graphics card.

@my moms house I have a PS2 and a crappy computer. I'm gonna buy it for PS2 for there.

@my dads I have a good computer (the one I'm talking about), and no PS2. My friend is gonna let me install it on PC using his disk (disk not required for play). So I'm getting it on PC for free, unless I need graphics card.

@AXL, I don't think I really need a new motherboard, just for an AGP slot. Like I mentioned earlier, I'll install it on PC w/o a new graphics card to test it. If I can handle it, then :) for me. If not, I'll buy a new PCI graphics card.

Since game is a week and a half away, maybe this should be closed to prevent spam. (I might make a new thread if computer cant handle it).
