Need advice for my Sorc...

Here's my current status...

Sorc lvl 76
Skill points:
20 ice bolt
20 frozen orb
10 cold mastery
1 static field
1 telekinesis
1 teleport
1 warmth
TOTAL USED = 54

75 (from lvl ups) + 8 (from quests) - 54 (used) = 29 currently remaining

I will advance on into Hell tonight, so I need advice from experienced players on where to use my remaining/future points. I'd like to solo mf at times, so I need to handle cold immunes. My merc is decently strong, but doesn't yet have his top gear.

I plan on maxing Cold Mastery, but as for a secondary skill, I'm leaning towards either Enchant (for my merc and party games) or Fireball. Either would get points in Fire Mastery, Enchant gets more points in Warmth for synergy and better mana regen... Fireball gets more points in Meteor for synergy and occasional usage.

Suggestions?

I have a level 85 metorb sorc. While your build is more involved in cold the metor-fireball synergy is a good one. This is the build I used. http://forums.diabloii.net/showthread.php?t=254070 . The problem is that metor may not have enough points to be really effective because of the 20 points you have in ice bolt.

right now your an orb sorc your orb can do in the regions of 450- 650 i have an all cold sorc so that went a bit rong shes strong as hell but on her own shes no gd id recommend lighning as a sec skill for stuff like countess runs shes immune to fire and cold

I'm making the same build. I plan on being orb/inferno since you can max both Orb AND inferno. inferno only has 1 synergy - Warmth :) so ya get dual dmg and hella mana regen with both fire and cold. dunno how it'll work out yet tho. Anyone have any ideas on this?

Well, after checking my stats, I realized I made a mistake. I had put 7 in Cold Mastery so far... not 10. This is good news for me, though, as I plan on using "Infinity" on my merc. The lvl 12 Conviction cuts resists by 85%. Lvl 7 Cold Mastery cuts cold resist by 50% and I'm def wearing at least +10 to skills. Lvl 17 Cold Mastery cuts cold resist by 100%... so the ubers in tristram with their high resistence will fall far into the negatives. Hmm.. might even keep a Lower Resist wand on switch, as Conviction and Lower Resist CAN break immunities!

That gives me 3 more points for my secondary fire or lightning skill. I crunched the #'s and Kilz is right that my meteor might be a bit low on damage. I think Dremis' idea of Inferno is too risky, since I only play hardcore and want nothing to do with having to get that close to a monster. I could get Enchant pretty high, but then I'm just standing there feeding potions to my merc. Although, the Enchant with his Conviction on could be sweet.

I hate the lightning skills, so I'm either going Enchant or Firewall.
