After the M'avina bowazon, I want to post here my other zon, too.
STATS
Str: minimum for your gear. Keep in mind the main requirements for the "favourite" items not to waste points into str.
Dusk shroud - 77 str
BotD Crusader bow - 78 str
Andariel's visage - 102 str
Gore rider - 94 str
Windforce (use it if you don't like BotD) - 134 str
Dex: all points. The main stat of your ama. Once you've worn your gear, all remaining points must go here.
Vitality: base. With the final gear and charms, you should have enough life to face hell without having troubles.
Energy: base. If you spend any points into energy, maybe you should play to "the little alchemist" or some other game instead of LoD.
SKILLS
MAX Strafe
MAX Freezing arrow
MAX Cold arrow
12 Valk (a formidable tank, with the final gear she is @ level 17 and has the gear to survive in Hell and to be a very useful "helper")
11 Critical strike (with final gear, @ level 16, you have 65% crit strike that is very nice)
1 to Dodge, Evade, Avoid, Penetrate, Pierce (if you use Razortail, 1 point here can be enough)
1 to all prerequisites
The remaining points are a choice of the player. They can be spent into:
- The three dodging abilities to boost the % of not getting hit by enemies;
- Pierce, to boost the % of your piercing attacks;
- Penetrate, to boost your attack rating;
- Guided arrow, useful in boss kills and vs the "single" enemies.
I prefer the pierce / penetrate solution.
The main attack of this ama is strafe, very fast and quite damaging when maxed. For phisical immune monsters, you have to use Freezing arrow which makes about 1.5k (or more) cold dmg in a range of 3.3 yards.
GEAR
Solution 1: NOT using Windforce
- BotD Superior Crusader bow: potentially, it can have 415% ed, that is awesome.
- "Chains of honor" dusk shroud: xtra dmg to demons / undeads, xtra resists, str, dr, leech, magic find, nice defense, defin8ly a marvellous armor.
- Andariel's visage [Ral]: str, leech, ias, +2 skills, xtra poison resist. Ral it to delete the -30% fire resist penalty. A marvellous helmet.
- Cat's eye: 20 ias, dexterity, faster run/walk, very good stats for a bowazon. Simply the best choice. Beautiful amulet.
- War traveler: Str, Vita, damage added, run/walk and magic find. Imho the best boots. Gore rider are also a decent option.
- Laying of hands: 50% fire resist, 20% ias and the (awesome) 350% xtra dmg to demons. Very good gloves in PvM, especially if you are going to make Baalruns, where most enemies are demons.
- Razortail: a marvellous belt. It adds to max damage, to % of piercing attacks, and to dexterity. All very useful mods for an ama.
- Perfect raven: 20 dex / 250 ar are the "perfect" bonuses of this ring. But it has also cold absorb and some mana, not to mention the "cannot be frozen" bonus that is very important. You have to use it.
- Crafted ring with massive str / dex / life leech and, ideally, some resists. It makes you save points into str to put them into dex (more damage and ar).
Weapon switch: "Call to arms" crystal sword and Lidless wall to use Warcries, which boost your life / mana / skills (+1) for a certain time, depending on how good is your CtA.
Solution 2: using Windforce
Use a Shael Windforce instead of BotD, and a jewel with ED / IAS into the Andariel's visage instead of Ral. Also use Nosferatu's coil belt instead of razortail. You have to have totally 120% ias to catch the last BP of Strafe, so these gear modifications are necessary.
You can also use an ed / 45 ias helmet if you want to continue using razortail, but you will loose all the useful bonuses of Andy's visage.
Also remember, when you plan to use WF, that you have to spend some more points into strength (more when compared to the BotD crusader solution).
Charms
- Annihilus
- Charms with lit res / life or fire res / life. You MUST have 75% lit res in hell and high fire res not to die from souls attacks and from ranged fire/lightning arrows attacks.
- 3 Max / 1x (20) ar / 20 life small charms. Simply the best charms for a bowazon. If you have a lot of them, you will pwn all.
Hireling
Act 2 Nightmare, "Might" merc (offensive). Equipped with:
Cheap gear
Eth Gaze [Shael]
Upgraded Shaftstop [Um]
Reaper's toll [Shael]
Expensive gear
Eth Andariel's visage [40ed / 15 ias jew]
"Chains of honor" eth Archon plate
Eth Reaper's toll [40 ed / 15 ias jew]
Once you've completed the skill / stat distribution, and your gear, you will destroy all in the game.
The only problem of this ama is that she is slow in killing baal (about 70-80 seconds alone is the average Baal-killing time for my lvl 93 bowazon like this). But the remaining enemies are pure shit.
Thank you for spending some time reading my build. Hope you like it.

Also remember: your merc will use The reaper's toll which casts continuously Decrepify, thus removing the Phisycal immune mod from nearly all immunes, and lowering the physical resistance of all non-immunes, effectively increasing your damage A LOT.Originally written in The Arreat Summit
FREEZING ARROW: The greatest of the powers attained by those dedicated to Karcheus is the skill to imbue their arrows with the freezing power of a devastating avalanche. Enemies within the impact of a freezing arrow are frozen in their tracks and feel crushing pain, as if a mass of magical ice had toppled onto them.
Effect: Enchants an arrow to deliver cold damage that freezes any monsters near the point of impact.
