Yeh what the hell are you talking about?

Goto the Warcraft forum because I think that is what you are talking about. If not, its in the Diablo forum. If thats still not it then you are at the wrong site.

i believe he is talking about diablo 1, at dungeon level 4 or so you will meet the first boss level monster, a butcher. he resides in a room with blood splattered on the floor and on the wall..

lol give up your warrior and play a sorceror or rogue, or go download diablo trainer and import some nice gears.

ok now this is an awesome tirck......first buy a bow, then go to the butcher...have him chase u and eventually u can lead him into the stairs, u can stand at the other side of the stairs and just shoot him with a bow, it takes a long time like 15 min+ but it works.

This is a follow up to that, the way I beat him is that there is usually iron walls, probaably near a chest protecting it from the outside. Like the response said have him chase you and get in the iorn grailing and close the door behind you. The good thing about the iron grailing is that he cant walk through it but you can shoot him with a bow from the otherside. This method differentiates on your time etc. Preferably you should use a bow with high dex, I don't know how you applied your characters but try to put a lot into dex regardless.

In D1 the worst dueling class is the Warrior because of his lack of distance attacks and okay dex. If you want try the Sorc class or the Rouge, Warrior class in D1 was extremely under par with the rest because in D1 dex is the best stat.

I hope this was of help

hey were talking about D1 butcher, not the Smith! They are similar ot each other, but different. And anyway its not the same quest, not even the same game. I think you got it mixed up a little bit..... Anyway a way to kill the butcher is just to fire away at him from a distance, or get A LOT of healing potions and the stand your ground. For a sorcerer, a firewall is useful, as for any other character. With the rogue kill him from a distance, hit, run, hit run. With the warrior just get a lot of heals and stand at one spot while you hammer away at him! By the way I wish you good luck!

personally, i think the best char to go with would be a rogue, shes very good, later on you get better armor, so that completely rocks. warrior is a bamboo branch because he might be tough but he is hollow. its hard for him to cast spells.not my personal choice. a sorcerer is not that good because of his lack of vitality, but he would be good if i would have the patience to play for him :p so thats just too bad. rogue is still the best one. it was very EEEEEEEEAAAAAAAASSSSSSSSSSYYYYYYYY to kill diablo because i got windforce. it threw him back and he couldnt get me. :p

lol. this is an amusing thread about the long lost butcher in d1.
well i have a simple stradegy but if your anything like me you will find yourself not wanting to do it cuz u like to 'overcome' your obsticals. but the simple matrix of diablo 1 basicaly make so you do not need to kill the butcher to progress, therefor i suggest just go down one or 2 more levels and clear them out then come back and kill the butcher easy as cake. but if your like me i like to overcome all my problems before progressing, what i did was just carry lotz of potions and hit him once or twice run away or in circle use the potions...then repeat the process until he dies. it might be a little hard for a newb to get it right but give it a shot!
