[glow=red]My PC broke for some reason. It all began then i had a virus in May, i reinstalled windows, but i kept having problems like then i shut down, windows gives me a load of errors, or then i stay on one page of the enternet for few minutes it gives me the error, closes the enternet, and in order to open it again i have to restard my PC. But i learned to live with that. Few days ago something really bad happened, Windows stopped opening the programs then i clicked on the icon, it starts loading them but then jsut quits. Also a lot of "Not enough memory" things started to pop up. So yesterday i decided to do a system restore, and i did, and now i turn on the computer and it gives me the big red message about some error that doesn't allow acces to antivirus libraries, and it restarts the PC. I am on my father's PC right now, please help. I am gonna try to reinstall windows if nothing else can be done, but i would prefer to solve it another way.[/glow]

I would really recomend reformat and a clean install. Sounds like it was really overdue anyway.

I scream format, because if you start having IE problems, then it will spread to the whole of Windows eventually.

Trust me, a format will save a lot.

Backup files if needed.

OKay I have a question. Lets take the Russians case and you take his harddrive and you put it in another computer as the slave and you run windows through a clean harddrive that hasnt been infected. If you turn on the computer will the worm infect the clean harddrive? I mean just by starting it.

I remember when I installed a graphics card once, I accidentally bumped one of the tabs holding in my RAM. The RAM popped out, and I was having these kinds of problems. Might wanna check that and make sure everything's secure.

Also, before you reformat, run MSCONFIG (if you can), click the services tab, check "Hide All Microsoft Services" and uncheck everything left. Then, click the startup tab and click "Disable All." Restart your computer and it might be a bit more responsive.

Yep, I just formatted, I had same problem as you Kuzmich, and I had Trojan Horse.

Just get your self Windows CD, and put that in, then restart, and it will say like "OMG PLZ PRESS ANY KEY TO BOOT CD" then it will take you to install screen..

Well you'll know what to do from there.

It should not harm the clean drive IF you dont run anything on the dirty one. So dont open any .exe or anything like that. It will just look like another disk in windows and nothing will start up from that disk. If you transfering files, just copy and paste is all you do.

@topic

Reformatting your hard drive looks like your only option buddy. if you need to backup files, do what raDixGhost said to do.
