-Socket A processor will not fit in a Socket 754 motherboard. You might want to change that.

-You might want to think about the Video Card... although, it's a good card, it is a fricken beast putting out alot of heat. My bro has the same exact card and he can tell you the story.

-If you are building this comp for games (i assume you are) then i suggest ram that runs at Cas 2.5 instead of 3.

-They have a 160GB Hard Drive at Newegg for the same price.

@WQ87: What about 9600 Pro 256MB for the vid card, i was planning on that for mine?

9600 Pro aren't that bad. They are good budget cards. Try getting a 128mb instead of a 256mb. None of the last generation cards are even fast enough for the 256mb of ram (excluding the 9800xt and 5950u).

I prefer intergrated on motherboard and since that motherboard has it already intergrated why get sound card and get a 9800 cause probably about 4weeks there gonna come out with another better vid card and prices will lower and the case you could probably get a good case like that for alot cheaper

Forged, split your post yourself, lazy boy.
The cards of this generation are fast enough to run 256mb-512mb, but are quite pricey.

Integrated are not always good; Video uses a big chunk of your ram while Sound uses some processor speed, thus can degrade performance and creates a bottleneck known as lag.

You didn't have to change the Hard Drive. 15000 rpm is god speed! Whatever floats your boat.

WQ pretty much handled what I was going to say about integration...it's normally easier, but it will take away from your performance, when you can get a real sound card with it's own SPU and can even do more for you...

I work with MIDI a lot so integrated is also UBER bad for me...but we are talking performance here right?

Definitely scrap the graphics card.

Go for GeforceFX 5900XT. It's not ATI (always a plus in my opinion) and it retails at $220. This one got excellent reviews and can be overclocked to extremes without difficulty. Also... are you sure you want an All-In-Wonder card? You'd probably want a Radeon if anything. AIW's are more for use with TV's and such.

Yeah, but Radeon's pro cards are terrible. From what I've heard, Nvidia's Geforce FX 5200 (and even Radeon's 9200) out-performs the 9600 Pro. The fact that he wants a AIW Pro is even worse.

I own both a 5900xt and a 9800 Pro. And the 9800 Pro just slaughters it with it's 8 pipelines vs 4 pipelines. The 5900xt is just a degraded version of it's expensive brother, the 5900 Ultra.

You heard wrong. The FX 5200 can not even beat a old GeForce 4 Ti4200, so in no way it can beat a 9600 Pro. Take a look at the link i posted, the 9600 Pro slaughters half the FX series.

But the fact a 5200 owns a 9200 is true.

You see, the nVidia's FX series (last generation) are just a joke. They were meant to be better than the 2 year old 9700 Pro yet half the series couldn't even surpass a 9500 Pro. nVidia proudly admit what they did wrong (Shown here) after the GeForce 6800 finally beat a 9800xt.Link
