As a insomnia plauged person myself, I find, a rutine works to stem off the effects for a while.
Go to bed and wake up same time every time. This will keep things at bay for a while.
If you are a spiritual and/or into martial arts, try meditation.
If you are stuck awake like I am and need things to do, try Youtube. That has saved me countless hours of infocommercial surfing.
I type in a random word, and see what pops up.
I am the type that chooses not to take drugs of any kind weather it is perscribed or recrational, so I can't help there. Although I hear Nyquil does wonders if you down double the dose.
