I could have put this in the Media Hub section, but I'm not just talking about your favourite song or discussing Eminem.

You know those times when you hear a song once and you get really addicted to listening to it and just keep playing it back? I've been like this recently with my new found love for J-Rock. While working my ass off in getting certain work done, I'll play certain songs on the iPod repeatedly for some time (complete with really good noise blocker ear sets so that I'm drowned in my own little world). Say...in one piece, it's the way the electric guitars are played alternatively in left and right speaker, giving the passing siren car effect, complete with the 16 beat drums, bass and fast repetitive aggressive lyrics sung. In another piece, it's the change in slower and mocking singing that suddenly starts to smash through with angry yelling and guitar jamming while sounding like they're preparing to go to war. In yet another song, it's the passion you can feel in the voice (that's not Mariah Carey - ugh) - more of the deep vocals combined with the way the lyrics are composed phonetically and the varying tones that can seduce your ears while the vocalist is singing about distress and deep soft bass in the back (then again, I think it was the music video that really did it).

Of course, preference for musical styles change all the time, depending on the mood. While I may have been more of a latin pop fan in the past few years where I have certain favourites (for different reasons), obviously it really depends on the current mood you're in. I suppose lately it's more hard anger on my part, along with my recent (visual) love for going all punk/rock/goth.

So...what sort of songs get stuck in your mind when the mood strikes?

I had this song once, I believe it was called Miss Blue. Heard it once, and I kept repeating the text in my head for two weeks non-stop. Seriously freaked out in the end and started listening to Groove Armada tracks. I love their beats. It means nothing, and yet you have the feeling of listening to awesome things. Music is a strange phenomenom.

It's truly inspiring and mesmerizing at times. I honestly have been swimming in the same songs for a few hours at a time lately, just because it helps me work properly. It helps get me a feel of what I'm doing and what mood I should be concentrating on, especially those with certain lyrics that are sung in certain ways.

Four letter word just to get me along
It's a difficulty and I'm biting on my tongue and I
I keep stalling, keeping me together
People around gotta find something to say now

Holding back, everyday the same
Don't wanna be a loner
Listen to me, oh no
I never say anything at all
But with nothing to consider
They forget my name ame, ame, ame

They call me hell
They call me Stacey
They call me her
They call me Jane
That's not my name
That's not my name
That's not my name
That's not my name

Fucking rocking it.

hitman is an awesome game! I finished all the games except for the last one becasue I got bored at the casino level because i couldnt figure it out...
Anyways, you once said that you tried playing piano but you stopped bcause you had no sense of rhythm...I think you should restart becasue everyone has a certain learning curve to overcome...Once you get over that it really pays off...Ludovico einaudi's songs are not very hard...you should start with him...No theory is required, just download the sheet music, identify the notes(im not good w left hand identification so i write down the name of each note on top of the actual symbol), and play

Practicing often also helps. Then again, passion to learn would make the whole experience much more enjoyable.

Am currently immersed in Calm Envy. I love the slow and calm melody, and even though I don't understand Japanese, you could actually feel the lyrics stabbing into you, sinking into a wave of bittersweet emotions with the desire to allow it to completely consume you.
