The most annoying yet most rewarding type in mtg imo. This is the deck you use to piss people off. By totally denying them their precious mana you can sit back and control until you drop a nice big fat creature and wail them to death while they sit there discarding.

Glows Ld Deck v1.0

4 Birds of Paradise
2 Vine Trellis
3 Troll Ascetic
4 Ravenous Baloth
1 Gigapede
1 Rorix Bladewing
1 Silvos, Rogue Elemental
4 Stone Rain
4 Molten Rain
4 Creeping Mold
4 Plow Under
1 Decree of Annihilation
4 Starstorm
10 Forest
10 Mountain
3 Wooded Foothills

This was actually an old ld deck back towards the Urza saga days..but with all these new cards there so much possabilities. Going r/g gives you exactly what a ld deck needs. Fast Mana! With Vine Trelis and Birds of Paradise it gives you that extra mana curve over your rival which leads to him getting land locked. Once you get the mana jump and start firing off stone rains creeping molds and the other ld he going to get locked quick.

Ravenous Baloth, 4/4 sac for 4 life helps hold off the early game aggro until you can take control of the situation. Also packin a bit of firepower for creature control like startstorm a mass burn spell. And hammer for that return from grave ability.

Your kill guys are the fast flying Rorix, gigapede for anti-target, silvos for trampling power.

All n all this deck can take on majority of the decks out there. Most people refuse to play it in the first place. Control is probably This decks biggest weakness but if you play smart it can be done.

What's the main way to whack their lands in this? Is it just bit at a time, taking out single lands? I'd kinda prefer to use my usual combo of Mycosynth Lattice + March of the Machines.

With this combo, it kills EVERY land in the game, and makes it so that no more can be played as long as those two cards stay in play. If you've got ways to still get mana without using lands, you can still play things and wipe the board with them.

This deck type intrigues me though...

Well the deck strategy is all offensive. By basing it on combo for control you would haft to set up a different route with the deck to fit the needs of protecting and getting your combo out as soon as possible. This is basically destroying a land 2nd turn. Speed. Once you get that you can ld every land they play. Using your smaller burn to take out the small 2 mana cost creatures they might cast. Then once you cast plow under its game over. Once you dry them of drawing lands. Simply plow under the last two land to basically give you 2 free turns! After that there getting pounded by a fatty.

I see the value here...I've never been very good at fast aggro decks...always been a combo player, usually with a little control mixed in.

Red's good for a quick burn and antiartifact. Usually I'm the one USING artifacts so that aspect isn't too fun, but I do like burning. I had a pretty mean burn deck at one point, but anyways...I digress.
