I spent a good few days looking through almost all of these mp3 players. Gotta trust cnet:

Then after hours of thinking, why get a Mp3 player when it can basically only player mp3 with a little extra features(recorder, radio...) When pda or pocket PC's can hold mp3(atmost 1gb I think) and still go on the internet, etc.

just a tiny little thing called sound quality, lwek.
I own two PDAs and two MP3 players (well, sold my old mp3 player and bought a new one), and I can tell you from experience that MP3 players are MUCH better for listening to music (with my PDAs there's always this barely audible background hiss...gets real annoying after a while)...and PDAs don't have much memory when you first buy em' (so you'll have to invest in SD/MMC/compact flash cards)...all in all, I've spent some $600 or so on my PDA and its only got 512megs of space...you can get an mp3 player for MUCH less than that...

oh, and internet on a PDA doesnt really work (ive setup my PDA so I can surf the net through my main rig via bluetooth anywhere in my house)...load times are crap for none-pda optimized sites...(battleforums takes like a minute to load, and you can only see like a fraction of the screen at any one time)...though being able to use MSN on my pda is quite useful around my house...

plus...nowadays most high-end mp3 players sport radio and recorder-functionality...

just get an mp3 player, minny...and if you're going to buy a PDA, you might as well pitch in a bit more and get one of those new sony upc things...

Both mp3 and pda are pretty new technology too. So both of them don't have the most perfect sound quality. But have extrememly good(which may be good enought to suit you)

I like mp3 players because most of them are smaller than pda. But I don't like mp3 player becaus their isn't a "perfect" one.
The one main feature I would want that is portable is a Digital Camera. So I want a PDA. May not take great pictures, but good enought to distinguish objects. I want a camera basically for um my "relationship".
It's not like I need 15+ gb of storage. I don't even know enough songs to carry 2gb. And besides if I do know a lot of songs. I can always delete the songs that are boring now. Songs do get boring after listening to them 24/7.
I know a person who had a PDA. From the looks of it, it looked pretty cheap, but when he maxed out the volume, everyone in the bus could hear the music. Got in trouble:)

I want this.
But as it says:
As expensive as an entry-level laptop; no included Mac support; so-so battery life.
But I'm checking these new iPaqs.:butterfly

the sony clie's have the best cameras in the market right now, but I wouldnt buy one if I were you,...max os x sucks... (there're a couple of palms with cameras too) I would definitely go for a pocketpc based pda (you see...there are groups out there dedicated to ripping pocketpc software...and IRC channels that serve nothing but pocketpc software...wish I could delve further...but I dont want to get warned/banned or anything) ... and if you want a digital camera, just buy a standalone digital camera.

As to the volume thing, pocketpc's tend to suffer from sound distortion if you turn up the volume...and the noise I was referring to is only audible when you've got headphones on...(its just this low background hiss noise)

now THIS, is what I want to get (and I will get it in like a month or two): http://www.dynamism.com/u70/index.shtml

one of my friends has a dell jukebox, those are nice, but I saw some really cool 20 gig ones that could play movies as well as songs at circuit city for around $350

Those are the coolest, but a dell jukebox is probablly the cheapest for what you get.

no no no, you dont want that muvo, you this:
http://us.creative.com/products/product.asp?category=213&subcategory=215&product=8980
or this:
http://us.creative.com/products/category.asp?category=213&subcategory=214

(you get more space...much more space, and the muvo you're looking at feels like crap...)

btw, I'd really look into getting the one in the first link I posted. You see, if it ever screws up on you, you can just break for this nice 4gig compact flash compatible card (its technically a mini-harddrive, but you can stick it in compact flash slots)...and stick that in a PDA or something...
