Mousepad's on Win98?

As most already know one of the requirements for Mousepad's maphack is
Win NT/2000/XP. I would just like to know if anyone has tried/gotten it to work on any other OS? Is it possible to run on Win98 or ME (I have 1 comp that runs 98 that I'd like to see if it works on, the rest run XP)? I haven't downloaded it and tried anything as of yet due to school/work. If someone has tried or knows whether it is possible to get it running on Win98 or ME please let me know. Any input is greatly appreciated.

Lol so your asking for people, to take the time out of there busy lives to help your daily needs of being to lazy to download the maphack (which it only takes 10 seconds) and you except use to tell you that its "Okay." for OS, or Win98? Well, first of all. If you took the time to make this post it probibly would have taken alot lease time to just download mousepads? So from this post, your telling us that you are...

A. Very Lazy.
B. Someone who is retarded enough to make a new thread asking people if its ok for you to download/virus free.
C. Being an idiot.

A. I have about 3 papers due along with my shifts at work so the "lazy" point makes no difference. I simply stated I had yet to try it and not that I would not and as of this moment I downloaded it and in fact it will not work on Win98 but that does not mean it's not possible to make it do so as many programs that say they won't will, or with something else loading theml. Not that many programs will and most won't but there are some that will/do. However finding what it takes to make it run takes longer than typing this or the above post. If you carefully read what I typed I simply asked if someone knew how. Not once did I state anything like "please download it on a Win98 or ME machine and figure out how to make it run and let me know while I sit around masturbating". I merely asked if anyone knew how currently or had any basic brainstorming thoughts on how to make it work.

B. Note that I never asked if it is "virus" free. If you check the sticky in this forum you'll see my nice long list of free AV/AT programs and thus do not need someone to test it for me as I can and in fact utilize those programs along with email lists in order to verify programs are virus free.

C. Well that is all up to your perception and there is not much to say here. However if you wish to crap up a thread kindly view the thread and move along. If you think it does not belong in the forum let a Mod know and if they feel it is not appropriate for whatever manner they can remove it. Otherwise kindly move along and try to read a post more carefully before jumping to such conclusions.

In reality guys, the only way you are going to get mousepads MH on win 95/98/me etc is for mousepad to:
A) port it to the operating systems
B) release the source code and let someone else port it.

It's unlikely that he will do B) since hes making money off the thing, but the problem probably lies in the fact that windows 95/98/ME were not 32 bit operating systems and alot of the system API calls present in XP/2000 do not exist in the other O.S.'s Thus you probably get a message something to the effect "<programname.exe> is not a valid win32 application", at the same time he is probably more concerened with making sure the current release is stable and secure, taking the time to port MH to win 98/95/me would take away time to work on the current one. *PERHAPS* when the latest one is 100% done he *MIGHT* take the time to do so but I wouldn't hold my breath. Not bashing anyone here but why are you still running such an outdated OS? the big majority of software doesn't support them, neither does microsoft. PC parts are as cheap as they have ever been take the plunge!

Thanks for the thoughts there dNiym, I figured it would take something like that but was not sure if perhaps someone knew a way to somehow get it to work. To answer your question I still run Win98SE on this machine well simply because I enjoy it. All the programs I need to run on here work fine with Win98 and this comp is mainly for internet browsing, school work, etc and I only play a limited number of games on it (such as Diablo, Enemy Territory etc all of which work fine on 98). So for those reasons I just haven't felt it necessary to upgrade this comp to WinXP yet, I just have my laptop with WinXP so anything I really need that won't work on 98 I just throw on there to use (however I rarely am able to play Diablo on it so was hoping for a Win98 MH ).

Well if anyone comes across any news about a release that will work with Win98 or anything that can get it to work just drop a post. I'll try to keep up to date on it also and if anything comes out of it I'll be sure to post it here so others can find it if it's not already posted.
