The Ballard of Barry Allen - Jim's Big Ego

Lyrics;
"I've got time to think of the beauty of a thousand variations
Of the beating of a wing
Of a hummingbird suspended in the aspic of the world
Moving slower than molasses
As i'm off to catch the girl
Who is falling off the bridge

And I'm there before she knows it
I'll be gone before she sees me
Got my hand around her waste
I pull her back to safety
By the time she knows what happens
There will be someone else who needs me
Because time keeps dragging on

And on, And on
Time keeps dragging on

I've got time to think about my past as I dodge Between the bullets how my life was so exciting Before I got this way and how long ago it was Now I never can explain by the clock that's on the Tower or the one that's in my brain

And I'm there before you know it
I'll be gone before you see me
And I'd like to get to know you
But you're talking much too slowly
And I know you'd really like me
But I never stick around
Because time keeps dragging on
And on

And you say the world goes rushing by
But it seems so slow to me
And you see a blur around you fly
But it takes too long
It seems so slow to me

How I wish I'd never gone into my lab to
Experiment that night before lightning flashed Around me
And time changed speed
Now I have to try to be so patient and wait for Calamity to strike
Because when things change in an instant
It's almost fast enough for me

And I'll be there before you know it
I'll be gone before you see me
And do you think you can imagine
Anything so lonely
And I know you'd really like me
But I never stick around
Because time keeps dragging on
And on...

And you say the world goes rushing by
But it seems so slow to me
And you complain I'm gone before you blink your eye
But it takes too long
It seems so slow

And you say the world goes rushing by
But it seems so slow to me
And I want to be there when you laugh or cry
But it takes too long
It seems so slow to me "

Now you go.

The Cure - Bloodflowers

One of the most depressing songs ever.

You have to actually hear it to feel it..but the song is extremely depressing..through the vocals, lyrics, and music.

Here are the lyrics though:

"This dream never ends" you said
This feeling never goes
The time will never come to slip away
"This wave never breaks" you said.
The sun never sets again
These flowers will never fade...
Never fade..

"This world never stops" you said
This wonder never leaves
The time will never come to say goodbye..
"This tide never turns" you said;
This night never falls again
These flowers will never die..
Never die...
These flowers will never die
Never die

"This dream always end" I said
This feeling always goes
The time always comes to slip away
"This wave always breaks" I said..
The sun always sets again,
and these flowers will always fade..

"This world always stops" I said
This wonder always leaves
The time always comes To say goodbye
"This tide always turns" I said
This night always falls again,
and these flowers will always die.
Always die...
Always die.
These flowers will always die..

Between you and me,
it's hard to ever really know who to trust
how to think...
what to believe
Between me and you
It's hard to ever really know who to choose
How to feel..
what to do.

Never fade..
Never die..
You give me flowers of love
Always fade..
Always die..
I let fall flowers of blood

You Are My Sunshine. I'm not sure who did the original version, but that tune's a lot more depressing when it's put into a familiar context.

EDIT: Do we mean lyrics or delivery? As far as the most depressing songs ever, Johnny Cash's Hurt is as painful as a song can sound. On the other hand, hearing the soundtrack to Beauty and the Beast blasting from someone's convertible Z3 was depressing in a strange way.

That song IS depressing and not emo. Unlike all depressing songs today that are emo.
