Monk Barbarian

i know this might be a stupid idea but i figured why not? its worth a shot. for those who play neverwinter nights you know a monk is a character with no weapons/armor. but unlike nvn we dont have any of the special abilities like inproved unarmed strike etc. anyways so i chose the barb because he has bo's and iron skin, natural res etc. if you have any ideas please post them. keep in mind this is my first time writing a build and this is prolly a very hard/impossible build to do but i figure with alot of different types of damage giving equip(which might need some changes considering im not too great with items, along with the dex) and damage giving charms he might be an alright char anyways here it is:

I would put 1 in Natural resistnace and put 20 in Berserk and 20 in Shout instead....

It doesnt really work this way... d2 relys on great gear for great damage, kind sux i kno but we deal with it. The weapin surprisingly is the least necesary peice of that pie...sein as nowadays u just stock up on an inventory of psn charms and u could probably kill most things cept the immunes with a little bit of patience...and since ur build has him using just tiamates...hes not gonna have much defense...or block with it...so hes pretty much usefull as a meat bag....

Yes it is stupid. You won't do any damage, because normal base punch damage is like 3-4 or something for barbs.

True. But if he uses plain out Beserk, he can do a bit more. If you had a way to raise your base damage without a weapon, in a good amount, this might havr worked.

Yea, but D2 is all about getting good items to make you better. If there was a special ability for barbs with no weapons then it might be worth a shot.

how about usin a staff or a club monks use clubs and staves not sure in nwn but everybook I've read with monks in it they have some kinda blunt weapon

First off: Monks are melee, and a paladin with a CTA would better suit this build.

A Monk can either go Melee (fists), or use a staff.

If you are going for a Staff, I would suggest an eth BotD Archon Staff, that does quite a bit of damage, considering it has like 100 base damage non-eth.

What skills would you max...

20 Sacrifice
20 Zeal
20 Fanaticism
1 Point in Redemption / Salvation
I don't know where the rest of your points would go. Probably Charge.

This idea is totally idiotic. Weapons are there to make you do more damage, why not take advantage of that?
