Mineral and music problem

well, i got xtra editor to work, about 20-30 min ago, and i got into the alternative mode, and placed the minerals next to the starting point, but when i play, only a few drones can mine from it at a time, so its till slow, and i also wanted to know if theres a way to put midi files into maps

Hmm, I have SC Xtra Editor, but I'm not sure if Alternative mode can stack minerals... I think you need a separate program/editor for that (I'm not sure where you could find one, Master Virus could probably hook u up with one. but if not, I'll get it for ya) . And as for Midi's. I'm pretty darn sure you can only put Wav. 's on. But ya never know till ya try. Keep up the work!

To stack minerals, You need ScmDraft:Alpha:

In order to extract SD:Alpha, you need Winace: (unless you have it)

To stack minerals with Sd:Alpha:
-Go to file - open - click on a map - press open.
-Go to unit placing at the top middle
-Go to place mode
-Then click on overlapping
-Then at the middle left(under the terrain) it should say player 1. Click on it and change it to player 12
-Then go all the way down till you find the word resource
-Double click on resource and click on a mineral
-Then place it anywhere on the map
-Once you place a mineral on the map, it'll wait 1/4 of a second and then it'll show up green again.(that means you can overlap)

You can only put .wav files into maps. However you can convert other files to .wav if you have the right program.

like the above said you can't stack using sc x-tra, but you can do other cool things.

Also if you want to get a better "stacking" effect without actually stacking, use the "SPECIAL" mode and check out what you can do (unit sizes r 1x1)

well thanks for all this, but, are there any programs that can change wav files that are common programs, or can i get a program that can change the files for free? can you change midi files?

Click on Start at bottom left on mintor
click on the "run" command
then type in: sndrec32
open your file
save it as .wav

(hopefully that works)

You don't need to change it. Just right click on the file
Go to "Send to"
and click on Compressed(zipped) folder.

converting midis to wav is almost pointless for mapmaking because midis are much more compressed than wavs thus converting them gives you massive file sizes. if you got the same music to about the same size it would sound like crap and you wouldn't want to use it. (hopefully)

I got a midi to Wav converter that works great, but its only a demo, and cant save the full wav. pisses me off. I did all that work it to fail on me! u could prolly find it on KaZaA search up midi2wav recorder. But dont download anything without two or more users, unles u got a great virus scan.

thats only for standard SC sounds
