where do yo think would be the best place to live as a peasant in durring the midiveal era?

i would say Europe. Maybe we get the black death easily, but peasants in most of europe only worked 180 days a year.....and its not like they worked particularly hard either! and then you would have pretty much free land and would only have to go to a war once in your lifetime if you were unlucky(or lucky depending on wh you were)

its the scenario. the majority of people were peasants in midieval era. So its much more likely that you would be a peasant than anything else.

I would pick austrailia... you never read of bad things happening in Austrailia in the Midieval times.

Way too many wars that where brutal due to hand-to-hand combat. not mentioning archers.

And from where did you get this info? The plague killed like 1/3 of all the people in Europe, wars were also quite common. Peseant also had to work very hard, the land wasn't free either.

history channel midiveal lives?

well anyways, the plague happed yes, but 1/3 out of well over 100 million isnt that much....and its an estimated 25 million deaths, 25million x 3 and thats a rather vast number....

the peasants had to work hard yes, but to survive in the real world, you have to work hard towards something. There were a few wars yes, but lords would only take close to a dozen peasants with them to a war. otherwise how would the lord protect his home from death?

its not like the lord didnt care about the peasants either, its not like they were slave labor or anything, they had to work only 180 days a year, compared to how much we work today, thats nothing, and they would only go out and work in the fields for 10-15 hours with several breaks here and there, they arnt working till they die.

25x3 is 75, not that big of a number. 25 million killed by 1 plague is a lot of people.

What part of Europe are you talking about?

guess what? the plague didnt start in europe! it started in asia and killed more than just 25 million. so, its not just europe that suffered from the black death/bubonic plague.

england mainly, france, etc...russia wasnt too bad in the late middle ages

No, Australia probably had those cannabalistic, head-shrinking aboriginees. They don't like foreigners very much. They'd either treat you like a god or a demon. I'd prefer the former, but it would be much more likely for the latter to happen.

Why would you want to live in filthy poverty stricken europe. I mean nowhere would be clean by today's standards but I'm going to go with Canada and being native.
