I feel that micro is lacking in some of the games I have played online.

A large amount of people tend to build up a heavy defense, then try to superweapon abuse thier enemy to submission.

When they actually attack with units, they would often let them die and not pull them back to salvage them. Especially with RA2 and Generals since Elite units auto-heal/repair themselves back to full life.

However, this shouldn't be the way to go. Although this game isnt really finite with damage and HP numbers, its ment to strongly exploit the use of strengths and weaknesses to overcome battles and odds.

Most of the games have Mechanics, repair platforms or units to repair and heal other units. Just simply pull them back so they can do thier job.

There are however, some exceptions:

Tiberium Sun, you can heal Cyborgs and Cyborg Commandos and any mutants on Tiberium crystals themselves.

In Renegade, poeple would fall back to thier base to heal or get a hottie/engineer to fix thier vehicile. Or the vehicile pulls back to a safe spot and the hottie/engineer fixes it.

In Generals, you got many ways to salvage units.

USA: Ambulance (infantry), Battle Drone Addons (Most ground vehiciles)
China: Overlord/Helix's Speaker Add-on, Speaker Tower Add-on
GLA: No real methods, except the Junk Repair upgrade for mechs from the Black Market. Angry Mobs recover themselves over time.

All races' War Factories and Barracks can heal units as they come in. The GLA Arms Dealer is an exception, but the Junk REpair upgrade suffices.

Some races also have the Repair power, you can use this to salvage your mechs.

Elite units will auto-heal and repair if they remain stationary.

You can capture Hospitals and Machine Shops to allow auto-heal/repair to all units. This works as well in RA2:Yuri. The original hospitals would just heal infantry if they entered it.

Makes you wonder: If there are many ways to salvage your units to keep them going in combat. how come there are still people that will recklessly throw thier dollars away to find out that thier units get wasted in seconds?

This is especially a problem when you look at things like Mammoth Tanks, Overlords, Some forms of air units, etc.

I don't know...seems to me you can raw power people easily if you have lots of heavy units. Then again, that depends if they don't defense spam. I'm used to WC/SC's controls, so moving units in micromanagment is kinda rough for me.

Depends on the game and what faction they play as. Tiberian Sun players like to setup grids of Artillery and SAMS to hold off enemies. Then again, what good is that stuff if you don't pavement your base.
