Micro and Macro

I was talking to one of my friends, and he said that he needed to set up waypoints for micro and macro. I asked if it was a hack and he said it was completely legit, and theres been some posts in other threads that mention this. I was just wondering, but what exactly is macro and micro?

I'm not quite sure, but i think micro is how well you control your units, and macro is how well you expand.

Yup its somewhat that...notice that you will never be able to rush a good player because of his micro skillz...its gives a considerable edge. I have a couple of micro practice maps,that can help a lot..if you want to play or just get them maps just tell me ehre and we can meet on b-net sometime.

So...thanks for offering to help (i accept too ), but it still doesnt answer the original question, what exactly is it? And how do you use it? What exactly are the "waypoints" that my friend was talking about?

I think he was describing the `rally points` of his buildings.. If you click on a building,then `r` and a location,all the troops comming out of that building will move direcly to that point. You can also use rally points with units or groups of units,you can select 3-4 locations,and the units will go to each of them 1 at a time...most of the time when i use rally points for units, click on an ennemy probe,then hold down shift and righ click on all the others.That means my units will kill that probe,then systematicaly kill the others 1 at a time.

Macro is building units and making combos strategies, etc.

Micro is controlling ur army, while atacking, i mean, sending some units to front and retreating with some, to heal, sending spells, etc

umm i think waypoints are kinda like rally points where u send a unit after there done biulding somin

yes they are, they're pretty good for terran, u order a SCV to make something and go stright mine after comleting the building.
even better, u select one with the ore at hands, and for example, to build barracks, u just do this: b b click shift c
