Mfing with your merc

hiya guys

this new mfing idea was enlightened to me recently

i dont think im the first one to think of it....but here it is

mfing with your merc!

it's based on this FACT that i recently found out. According to it, when your merc kills something, item drops according to the merc's mf+your merc's mf. For insance, if your merc has 100 mf and you have 300 mf, each of your merc's kill has 400 mf!

so my idea is:

get armor/helm socketed with p gems

give it to my merc

give my merc a nice weapon (i cant think of good weapon with mf right now..)

and make my sorc a mf sorc

except that she's going all enchanting to buff the merc up


while merc fights, i use static field to hurt or some other skill to hurt it

my merc can finish it off






even if i dont go full enchant, would it b a good idea to let the merc finish the boss off?



here are my questions:

1. will this work pretty well?

2. do you think even if i give 6 ist socket spear to my merc, my enchant's buff will give my merc enough dmg to kill pindle?

Ugh... Ya mf for merc works, but it will have shit damage. Get all ethreal items

Example:
3 socket P Topaz *Eth* Death Mask
4 Socket P Topaz*Eth* Wire Fleece, Dusk Shroud, Archon Plate.

4 socket *Eth* Insight poleaxe or colossis voulge (Ral + Tir + Tal + Sol):
Level 12-17 Meditation Aura When Equipped (varies)
+35% Faster Cast Rate
+200-260% Enhanced Damage (varies)
+9 To Minimum Damage
180-250% Bonus to Attack Rating (varies)
Adds 5-30 Fire Damage
+75 Poison Damage Over 5 Seconds
+1-6 To Critical Strike (varies)
+5 To All Attributes
+2 To Mana After Each Kill
23% Better Chance of Getting Magic Items

Or later on...
6 socket ist *Eth* War Axe

And your merc should get around 200+ mf

and average sorc has 400 mf, and it stacks with merc mf so...

thats 600 mf

seriously this idea is crap

it's inefficient

first off, just look at how a merc attakcs, its slow as hell
so you should justuse a blizzard sorc
and kill efficiently (that is better than having better mf)

and another thing, a sorc merc wouldn't be using insight, it'd be using infinity

so in conclusion:
1. it wouldnt work "pretty well"
2. yes the merc will prolly be able to kill pindle, but very slowly and may die (depending on gear) due to charge
PS: you might die too!!!!

and I might die to pindle? do YOU die to pindle? if not pindle maybe meph...then maybe you might say meph is stronger or something...

It would certainly work very well against Pindle

but not against Meph...

oh yea, make sure you have full rejuvation pot filled in your belt You may need it heh


and only reason merc would die to meph would because he can't leech off of meph, and meph like owns melee chars

This is the main way people reach 1000+ mf.
Use Eth, Up'd Skullders for Armor (up to 148% mf with ist)
Eth Tombreaver Socketed with 3 Ists for Weapon (this can give up to 170% more mf!)
Eth Stealskull Casque for Helm (up to 80% mf with Ist)

thats 400 mf on merc...plus the 600-700 on sorce (if you use isted blade and shield) which can make your mf alot higher than you thought it could be.

sorry if i sounded a bit rough
but the thing is, what i posted SHOULD have help. blizzard sorcs will do much better on pindle since you are able to freeze the chargers w/ glacial spike while using blizzard.
doing that will let both you and your merc survive

oh yea, hell pindle is not THAT easy, especially with an enchantress. even my old hammerdin took quite a lot of damage from him (and his gear was definitely not crap)

PS: and why the hell would you want so much mf?
faster killing>more mf

it made me realize that it's not a REALLY horrible idea, but that i have to be pretty rich to do it

maybe i'll come back to this thread when im fiilled with runes, head to feet...

well... if the base damage is.. 200.. and u enchant, it probibly will do extra 900 damage, so 1.1k dmg, and if u got act 2 nightmare merc, combat, it gives might aura, so in the end, the merc damage will be around... 2.3k damage. So it is a good idea, iv done it before with a sorc, and had 1k magic find in total, but i think it maxes out at 800?good idea, should work.
