Which merc should I use for a Avenger pally?

I want a cold Ironwolf, but I'm tending towards a nightmare defensice AII merc.

I'd use a Act II Def Merc or a Rouge.

Uh... a good-equipped avenger can easily pwn all zones of the game cuz he doesn't have any problem with immunities... why shouldn't he make one?

I think that teh best merc for an avenger is the Defiance merc (Normal or Hell, Act 2, "Defensive").

But if you want a little more physical damage on your attacks, you can use the Might merc.

I should of put if he was going PvP. They suck in PvP.

if you do enough damage already you shouldn't go with a might merc... id go with a holy freeze merc to slow the monsters (act 2 defensive)

I agree... on holy freeze.. unlike Zealdin, Avengers only do one hit per monster right? Meaning other monsters around Pally wont be frozen and such....

Avenger = Paladin who makes uses of the combo Vengeance + Conviction aura. This pala is built to make massive elemental damage in melee (with vengeance and synergies), and increase that damage by lowering enemies' resists, using conviction.

Holy Freeze mercs are best period. They rock as tanks for mf, they're good for a melee char, slows monsters. They just own.

I haven;t seen anyone use them period. They just don't do enough for me, It seems.

I do like the fire one, though. Nice splash and all. But the way you equip their swords and it adds damage, just bothers me.

I used to hae a 94 fire arrow merc... equipped with botd...she still blew ....id almost rather have a ac3 merc...ouch ^^

If you're playing a Pally, The Act 2 Might Merc is the way to go. Here is what I use for my Merc's gear. COA (Socketed with 5/5's) Bramble and Doom...Try that and I trust you will find yourself feeling as if you have a friend in the game with you watching your back...
