Merc lvling

well, ive gotten a holy freeze merc, lvl 45 now. but it takes HUGE amount of time to lvl him :S
any tricks that might help? 45-75

Eldritch / Shenk / Pindle / Baal runs in NM till he is lvl 75 and can wear the unique Thresher, then go to Hell.

nah nah nah ur all wrong the best way (worked for me a billion times) to lvl a merc is in act1 the pit...dont ask me why its just totally ownage for lvling mercs

Try nitemare cow, it lvl faster than baal run. You can also find gems as u lvl ur merc in nitemare.

nope, ur merc dont have to kill to gain exp. ur merc can leech while u kill the enemies.

Thats what drax said... You're just simply restating what he said.

Anyways, i was doing pindle runs and my merc went from lvl 78-82 in about 30-40 runs. Pindle is easy to kill (for me at least) so im glad that it was that easy for him to lvl.

Best ways for me is either:

Get the merc around your level and just play the game regular and he'll with you

or

I like NM Areatt WP runs. Tons of monsters at good level and exp.

Nightmare cowing works great until 70, and by then he can stay alive long enough to level with you.

Now, I have a new question. Where would be the best place to level a lvl 96 merc? My merc gains only a few hundred exp per kill out of the needed few million.. the exp gained just DIED after he got level 95... any suggestions?

Just go out and run around, allowing him to kill stuff... There is no pasific place to do it....

merc gets more xp if he kills stuff himself as opposed to leeching xp off of your kills (only gets a fraction). hell cows are pretty decent, easy to manage. just keep merc alive and let him get as many kills as possible. get a zon with freezing arrow to help if you can. she can just freeze them while merc takes all the kills.

are you a higher level than merc? merc cannot level beyond you. once they hit the same level as you they stop gaining xp until you reach a higher level, then they can start gaining xp again.

Sure there is:

Until about lvl 50 or something, nm shenk and act 5.

Until lvl 75, hell cow without killing cow king.

Until 85, hell shenk or hell baal =)
