ok... i have noticed a good merc can be real helpfull and deals tons of damage... but now i need to know what gear it use... i am plaing to give him bonehew how about the rest ?? need help thx

vamp and armor watever u can afford i personnaly like umd vipermagi

umm... give him glad bane + perf vamp gaze + perf eth bonehew with 2 amns, if he is freezing aura merc, he will do about 3k and will have 75% resist in hell in lvl 90. Unless ur zealdin/zon, its best to get freezing aura. If ur zealdin, get freezing/def, ur choice, and if ur zon, getting might aura is the best.
OR if ur real rich, jus get breath of dying in war sythe (not sure if its elite).

Get BOTD ethrial Gost spear for act 2 mercs, if rich. That or BOTD Ethrial Giant Thresher.

The assasin im making will have these on it's merc:

ariocs hyperion spear (really good, not too expensive either)
15 ias shaft
.08 shako

I suggest you should have Doom war pike or cryptic axe on a def/might merc and you will have dual aura. On that perhaps a shaft (or other kind of armor) and a gaze. You want all of these items to be eth though

What is so good about the Glads bane? It requires lvl 85!!! too high.. and too lazy to get that high for merc...

my merc is using a 1.08 gaze, CoH wire fleece and BotD ethereal war pike. I still need to stick a 40/15max jewel in the helm. pretty good setup. decent damage reduction (33%), resistances (65%) and life leech (16%). currently tagging along with my paladin.

thinking of trading in my zon's rogue merc for a freeze merc w/ same equipment.

Follow Davemeister2's merc gear, seems nice, but if ur in ladder, give him cronw of ages.. and i think Stone would be beter, since act 2 mercs lacks in FHR.
And glad bane is good because...:
-poison reduction
-anti freeze D)
-hell lot of def

If you think merc in lvl 85 is high, wait til u c my sorc's merc, lvl 90.

Don't use a 40/15 max, use a 40/15ias or 40/15res, rather use just a 40% ed jewel than a 40/15max

why the amn rune... mercs do NOT use mana so why give mana leech... it sais on arreats. they no need that shit. i gave him a 25%ed jewel + shael. griswolds armor with 1 P purple gem (he needed str for bonehew) and 2 empty socks left. helmet is tal rasha for leeching. he is pretty pwnz. if im not mistaking 70%ias on a very fast attack speed weapon ^^ 700-2200 dam if im not mistaking (and VFAS!!!)
