Map unprotecting?

I know that map unprotecting is immoral and is like to a copyright but i believe
I have maybe the 1 exception to the rule. The map I wish to unprotect is a map with much potential but has a few bugs. It is the Last Alliance map By
Ar-Ankundar. Like copyright evtualy wears of I think that so has his protection over the map since he made it some 5 years ago. He doesn't even play starcraft anymore...

Any help That can be given to me would be helpful....

First thing you should try to do is to find any way to contact the map maker. Email is best. Maybe look in the map description, he/she might have left their email on there.
Then email the person stating the bugs and stuff and that you want to fix it and you want an unprotected version of the map. Most people that protect their maps, also have an unprotected versions incase they need to go back to it.

If that doesn't work, post back.

well, if its been almost five years since the person has worked on the map and he doesn't play SC anymore, he's probably uninstalled it! If he's done that, then hope he still has his maps! If he doesn't, then you start looking for an unprotector. IF you edit, then be 100% sure to give the guy credit and call yourself an editor of the map!

I DO NOT SUPPORT UNPROTECTING IN ANYWAY! DON'T BLAME ME IF YOU GET A VIRUS OR SOMETHING IF THE GUY DOESN'T HAVE HIS MAPS ANYMORE AND YOU GET AN UNPROTECTOR!

I have tried to contact him many times but have had no sucsses what so ever. Even though i knew the maker personally he moved away over the summer. i only want to get and unprotected version to edit a few bugs and save myself the truoble of complety remkaing the map, which i am fully campable of doing, only it would take me much seeing that the map has 200 + triggers....
I am a profensional map maker though and has much more to do then recreate the map.

There are a million versions of that map anyway. Just download another one, or PM me and get my contact details and i can unprotect it for you.

I know that it is immoral but the guy don't even live in the u.s anymore.But i would gove him full ccredit unles i have to remake the map down 2 every terrian palette... i believe i have a valid piont and need help =(

I, too have a problem. I need to unprotect one of MY maps. Due to computer problems, I have lost the original copy. Think you could unprotect it for me renz? I really need to fix a bug that I only recently noticed.

Could you unprotect this map, please? There are 'cheat codes' to be entered to get "probe mode" "suicide mode" "repair bunkers" etc. for this defense map. I asked SentryIII for em but he didn't save any of his maps. He did have the triggers for them on his website, but I quit before he put them up. There were not archived on archive.org.

The cheat menu was accessed by moving the chooser to the upper left corner of the skip wait island. 15 hero seige tanks were let seiged/unseiged and when you exited the menu, the code would be entered. I haven't seen any other map with anything like it.

It is one of my favorite maps since it was very challenging. In no other defense map can you build right on the lanes. Even these days, most bnet noobs can't beat it on Beginner. The defense maps that were around in those days were all fast build, instant upgrades, etc. If you could at least tell me the codes, I would be so grateful!

People, if you want a map unprotected, do it in any way except for posting in this forum. Instant Messenging, PMing, Emailing, but not Posting. I don't want to have this forum be the mother of unprotected maps, for now...

The problem is that my map WAS created by me. I just lost the original unprotected copy, due to my hard drive being erased by a virus.

Then I went and promised a few friends I would fix up a error in it that makes the map almost unplayable, and while I was at it add instant ups. *shrug* I just want to make the map playable.
