I didn't play it, but I would suggest that you work on balance, and symmetry.
Most gamers that play Shared Base maps similar to this prefer to see things evenly distributed, even if it is a money map.
Same number of gas, distance to the starting point, layout of the land, etc...
I can see it having potential though, especially since most of it is open field.
Play it online, save your replays, and interpret how others use the map.
From there, use that information to manipulate the map through strategic placements.
Whichever way you go, just keep making, playing, and having fun.

Are you sure that you are looking at the same map that you attached??

"resources jts"

It's not my intention to start a controversy, but take a close look at what you attached.

Red 18 minerals 13 gas
Blue 20 minerals 11 gas
Teal 14 minerals 11 gas
Purple 14 minerals 10 gas

Using the location numbers bottom left of editor screen.
Distance from the center of start location to center of the nearest mineral

Red 11
Blue 9
Teal 10
Purple 11

The minerals, and the gas for Red are set to invicible, the rest aren't. But this makes no difference in any way to my knowledge.

Placement seems a little random, and the river is far from being in the center, but I will lean on these being the artists personal interpritation.

Just remember what I said above, just keep making, playing, and having fun.

If I seem over critical on detail, forgive me. I've been playing this game since the demo came out in a copy of PC Gamer, and that was before the public release of the actual game, somewhere around 1996.

Personally, I kinda like your long map.

I always liked how a great distance could generate some interesting attack, and defence scenarios.

About 2 years ago, I set up a map similar to this, but it was in a + formation, to accomodate 4 players. With water being in the four corners to seperate bases.
But, it had to be played as a UMS, because I didn't want anybody traveling over the water and doing a drop, or air attack. So the appeal was never really there for my friends to play it, they were more into the melee at that time, than a trigger map.

On the subject of triggers, you may want to rethink that Victory setting a bit. If I remember right, with that particular configuration, both players would have to have exactly 35,000 ore, and gas, at the exact same time, for it to fire. No more, no less. Also, both would be told they had a victory.
If you were after a victory for the first player to get that amount of $$, change it to....
Current player accumulates at least 35,000 ore and gas
Then the victory setting.

Looking good,
