Map Saving Problem

I open a .w3m file, and immediately, before doing anything to the map, attempt to save it. The file will only save as an expansion file...I dont even own TFT! This is happening with the majority of maps I try to open. The editor just won't let me save as an RoC map ?_?

The reason I am editing other people's maps is because one of the RoC updates ruined all of the tomes which are supposed to add more than just 2 to a stat, and updating the ones I like so I can play them just as they used to be played ^_^

Any help is appreciated, thanks!

There should be an option in Map Properties or around there allowing you to not save with the new patch data or something, I think.*

Map Options - Game Data Set
I think that is what you are referring to...
I've tried all three options, none of them work.
The options were:
  1. Default
  2. Custom (1.01)
  3. Melee (Latest Patch)

What's interesting is that I thought the expansion option was only available if you installed the expansion...

Save the map anyway and see if the map has a .w3x extension. Now, does it have a map icon or some weird Windows icon that denotes an unassigned extension?*

Yes, yes it does. It has the .w3x extension and that unassigned icon that unknown file types get.

Did you also take into consideration that you may have put doodads or custom objects that only appeared in the Expansion?
