I Don't Know if this belongs in this topic, Im new to battleforums :p, But I had a new idea for a map I was going to make and if anyone wanted to work with me
The map will be a Resident EVIL MASS ATTACK game.

3 Things.

1) Great Idea

2) Wrong section, this should be moved to UMS

3) Your sig image is WAY beyond the height requirements. Please use something between 550 x 200 x 72 plz.

i would but i'm tied up in various projects.. although i do have a good deal of resident evil map experience (three to date).. so if you need any help (like you run into a problem) then feel free to ask, although, as he said, it'll have to be on the UMS section, which is where this should be :p

Ahhh, Zombie Hotel was great until people rigged it. They added the Bay, gave the hotel security 5 damage. Make something like that, it's fun and good when you include firebats.

get GUEdit 3.6 to protect your map before you come out with it.. that way no one will rig it like they do any other good map that comes out balanced and unprotected

That is a must have, otherwise the other scenario is that they steal your map.

Isn't GuEdit a bit out of date? I thought most people would be using SCM Protector by Clokr_ by now >.<''.

Besides, I thought GuEdit's lock system could be broken..

no, i don't know how it works, but the unprotectors are useless against it.. whatever it does, it takes out all the stuff the editor uses, but the map doesn't need to be played, and removes it.. after you're done you can't even open it.. you have to save it as a seperate file

those ****ing unprotectors work on the one that uses a password to protect the maps.. like you can unlock it later with a password.. i'm not sure what that editor is.. but if you try to open protected maps with guedit, it tells you what was used to protect them.. i go through them sometimes when i'm bored, and a great deal of them use guedit.. they add secret little messages too that you can only see if you try to open it in guedit, lol.. i add them to all my maps too :D

map unprotectors remove the top parts of doodads and the loactions names are gone
any way try to make the madness orginal some how

You should make a madness map with a mass attack system where you can control other people's units (via mass attack beacons), lol.. I've always wanted to do that.

That is what they said about Zap Placer, and look who is using it :)

Madness is silly as Defense Matrix maps. Go for Terran Survival or Protoss Survival. NOW THATS a challenge :)

Zap Placer? Hellwolf, that's like.. from the stone age. Cavemen were using Zap Placer in the B.C. era.

Why would you use Zap Placer when you could use StarForge or, at least, GuEdit?

Meh, at least you don't use ISOM...

i remember isom and zap placer.. they are both rather outdated.. i use starforge, guedit, and x-tra.. they do it all :p

I use ISOM, LOL! I told you, I use old editors lmao! I will get Starforge now, but GuEdit used to piss me off cause it didn't properly lock my maps :p

lol you gotta have 3.6.. or the version right before that worked too, but 3.6 has the works, you can alter all your map properties with it.. i check my maps afterwards just to make sure (i'm paranoid like that), but i've never had it not work :) oh and i used isom when it first came out, but i recently tried StarForge.. you are going to love it if you used to use isom a lot and have never used anything else for square terrain :D just be aware that Null terrain ****s up x-tra if you change editors

ISOM was easy to use. Set Integer to 0 and run any map editor program. I still use the original, but that is when I want to line up all minerals.

yea but the terrain would get edges and diagonal paths connecting stuff if you didn't mess with it a lot, and it was impossible to make perfectly square terrain of any dimension because the squares it made were actually 2x1 rectangles, meaning anything with an odd width was impossible to make square.. with starforge, you pick what kind of terrain you want to lay, and you get a square brush to lay it instead of a diamond.. also it makes it easy to change the dimensions of your brush, like if you want to put a 100x57 piece of high platform on space terrain, you just set it to 100x57 and the brush takes that shape, then you pick the terrain, and just lay it where you want it.. it's really nice and easy to use, although it is all i would use it for

Also. the square terrain doesnt exactly offer height differentiation. its all 1 level.
