the hobbit would work

the silmarrilion would not simply cuase its not really a story that takes place in middle earth.

its more like reading a history book of middle earth. it talks about differents events happening at different times. that basicaly make up the middle earth chronicles.

lotr and the hobbit are legendary adventures that take place in middle earth

silmarrilion is would be like watching a history channel special on middle earth.

dont get me wrong it would be great for the die-hard fans but it would lose sales and be a fluke if they tried to display it in theatres around the world.

i dont care much for Peter other than he did do a great job on the series. it kinda disapointed me that he acted so upset that LOTR will be what he is always remembered by.

He wants to do The Hobbit, the Silmarrilion is probably very hard to cast and would be very long as well.
Have you seen any of Peter Jackson's older movies. There all low budget worthless tapes. Without him the movies would've never even made it into theaters, he can turn an abosolute bomb to a decent movie. I think he did a great job with LOTR, very few errors.

Hey, that was probably the best spent 3 hours of my despicable life :D ...... But still it would've been nicer in the scene where the riders of rohan actually attacked the orcs instead of trampling them (although it was still awesome)

I don't beleive that anyone will say that the whole movie sucked inless they are mentally insane and incapable of understanding the movie... The only thing that I though sucked about it was the shreiking nazgul.... damn that hurts your ears...

Muhahah children! I'm in Ottawa (capital of Canada), and I went at 1:30 on the tuesday for the marathon. So I started watching RotK two hours or so earlier then the rest of you. Lol. Ok, now that I've said that: Rotk Kicks ASS! The extended edition is to be 4:22. Now THATS a movie worth seeing. And you could kind of tell where scenes were chopped, and then will be added in later. Definetly the best of the three.

Wait, in a row, or altogether? Cuz I've seen the Fellowship of the Ring like 20 times.. And like 2 times in a row.. Not really sick of it anymore..
