Leaving for Kabul, Afghanistan

Just checking in before I take off tomorrow.

Going to be meeting up with two of my high school buddies at 4am before driving up to Logan airport in Boston and flying to Heathrow Intl. Have a brief layover before heading off to Dubai and staying for 4 days in company-paid hotel accommodations, and finally heading to Afghanistan this Thursday. Don't really know how much free time I'll have till I get to my residential complex in Kabul between now and then, or if we'll get shot down while flying over there.

I'll be working as the company's System Administrator, and I'll have two office assistants working under me, while making enough annually to make a down payment on a house and buy a nice sports car whenever I decide to come back to the States.

Why is Cort going to Afghanistan? My uncle has bombed that place in the 80s, told me it was a real shithole.

Just bought a nice new digital camera... pics of that shithole to come soon!

I've also heard Dubai has some of the world's best dance clubs. Anyone have any recommendations? I know we'll have at least one personal day off while we're there.

Oil. And seriously, this is a city that's not built while politicians squabble over what should and shouldn't be done. The President's opinion here is the only one that matters. The only thing this city lacks that the U.S. can still trump it on is a working subway system. Though one is already almost completed here.
