Ive never used or had a laptop, so how do they connect to the internet excatly, and is there like a certain distance it can go?

They can connect the same way a regular computer. You can get a wireless router, and use that so you can travel all around the house.

It might help if you told us what kind of internet you have.

Eh, no. Because it has a certain range limit the wireless can reach. You might want to check out different wireless systems to see which fits your needs.

Lol, it's not the laptops that are wireless, it's the router, and most have a maybe 100 feet range.. maybe.

Yes, my Labtop Card only goes 100 Feet, but I also have Wi-Fi and there are a bunch of hot spots around here.

Yeah, there are hot spots where you can connect wirelessly (local starbucks or school)

You can also tap your neighbour's line if they didn't protect it. :D I saw it in action once.

Routers and Wi-Fi, basically, or you can plug in your LAN cable that hooks up to the Internet.
