Ladder or Nonladder?

I played Diablo 2 LoD during the 1.09 days, or what im referring to as the "good ol' days," when I believe the only two modes were hardcore and normal. Now they have a choice between nonladder, and ladder, someone please let me know what I should be playing ladder or nonladder, and what most people are playing today. Also, What happened to everyone wearing the same build for their class, for example, all amazons had the windforce and shaftstop armor, and vamp gaze, etc.? Thanks for your help, please respond quick.

And if you have any good Sorc builds, please let me know. Thanks a lot!

Ladder, .09 didn't suck, just too many dupes, and go here for the skill basics for the most used Sorc builds: http://battleforums.com/showthread.php?t=92676 : And there are other commonly used builds in there as well.

yeah bullshit lol classic was very hacked as well, i remember there was grandfathers on classic and windforce n shit, websites were selling them
