Ladder corrupted?

Quick question fellow Starcraft gamers: I'm coming out of near 5 to 6 year retirement which was brought about due to the prevalence of hacking and the boredom of ladder speed being on normal. Now it's on fastest, much to my amazement. So is ladder worth my time or is hacking still common?

People hack a lot now. Especially on the ladder. Most of those 9999 people you see are winbotters.

A winbot? They're THAT lazy now that they don't even bother to take the time to cheat?? What about this newfangled concept World Game Tour? I tell ya I was shocked to log onto B.net last week and saw hundreds of thousands still playing. *sniff sniff* So many memories of this game...

East Realm for the most part. Yes, people are that lazy now. That's why the ladder on West and probably East are ruined, from botting.

East. I don't bother playing melee or ladder anymore. Cheating is too common.

Botting has effectively taken two of nthe greatest qualities from both games. How ironic and dreadful.

Not sure, but you can try wgtour.com or pgtour.com. If you're just coming back into the game, I wouldn't. Yeah, battle.net is corrupted, but I just deal with it.(until I'm ready for a better ladder, which won't be anytime soon since I'm a casual player)

All the games are corrupt.
But SC is too old for me to care what happens.
Its had its more than 15 mins in the spotlight and now hackers own that realm.
Looks like D2 also is having its fair share of illegitimates.
Ladder is taking over by bots. There is no way any human can sit @ their computer for days baaling.

You play games with friends or people you trust. Hence why I mostly play with people here when I play.

Blizzard cleaned/reset the ladder, maybe a year ago or so, I think. Then the hacking got worse. :angry So if you wanna play ladder, you'll have to play PGTour, like Phoenix said. :hop

Well, it has gotten worse only if you compare to many many years ago. But if you compare to 1-3 years ago, SC/BW has gotten much better. Multiple hacks have been blocked such as the popular ones: Stack Hack and Drop Hack (Drop people of your choice in-game). Maphacks, however, are too hard to stop due to the multiple ways of exploiting this part of the game. The best Blizzard can do is ban.

I miss my Pro Gamers Tour. Best job I've ever had. WGT on the other hand....

Also, I beg to differ considering you statement about PGTour. Hacking almost never happened. If it did. We blocked it within 24hours of it being there.
