Zerging is the tactic of using overkill numbers to win.
There is nothing innately wrong with zerging. It's just that it involves little-to-no skill. It also develops the skill of the zergers just as much, with an inverse proportion of skill needed and gained by the defending zergees.
But that's pretty much your main way of fighting with numbers like these. It's not like people are patient or organized enough to put the tanks up front, stop, volley with spell casters. And wait for the others to comply.
No, but there is still a lot of more effective strats then "blitz everyone!!1one!1," which is what the alliance usually uses. Which is why Horde still comes out even with alliance, though they have inferior numbers.
