ok it seems me and my friend are having problems joining the same games in battle.net

both of us have opened the ports described on the sticky at this page, except his does not have a "both", so instead it is on "TCP"

whenever we join the same game there is lag.. is this becuase we are using cable? from what I remember when cable is used for internet, it shares with other people. since we are in the same cities and we live very close , (hes about a block or 2 away), is this the problem? Since we are also using the same provider, (comcast) is this a problem?

btw when one of us creates a game there is error message (high latency).
when we join our other friend's game, who lives in a differnt city, we both can at least join it without an error message, but there is huge amounts of lag.

In the "drop box" it is my friend who sees me as "to be dropped" and i see him as "to be dropped".

in the game channel we are shown each with 1 green bar, which means good right? whats the problem? :(

It's something to do with the router.
I use to have that problem when I'd go to my friends house and we'd play in the same house. We could play other games but not games that we both are in.
There's a router sticky thread in the Tech forum. See if that helps.

anyone else wanna help, please? still having this problem.

for some reason now, however, my neighbor can make games and we can join it now (he changed to UDP i believe, but it took a few days after he changed it, a little confusing)

we still lag when all 3 of us join a game.

is it me? i opened the ports however, unsure.

yea but my friend does not hace a "both" option, so it is currently set to UDP.
mine does, however, and when I play with them I am the one that is always considered, one of the laggers. (once again now my friend who lives closer to me doesnt lag when I play 1v1's with him. However, my other friend who lives in another city, when he joins our games it DOES lag.)

Ive been having a very similar problem. At first it was that only 1 person could use battle.net and the other person could play like unreal or something. I know its not a lag problem because we can both play different games online that are alot bigger than starcraft. We can both play starcraft online in different games without any lag. The problem that has been occuring is when we try and join the same game in a public game. The router is a Linksys which I've come to know as being pretty good. Does anyone know how to clear this up?
