Item generators?

first of all i would like to say that although i have been playing diablo 2 for a while i know next to nothing about the game, i have just been playing it, all this talk of java zons, and cruel swords, i dont have a clue. what i know is that i have rubbish items as well, my lvl 75 necro doesnt have anything specific to a necromancer, its all just run of the mill stuff, anyway


i downloaded somewhere off here a character called kronicsclone or kronics_clone, which was a lvl 99 necromancer. it has rediculous weapons and armour, obviously with stats that someone has created/modified.

so i just wanted to know is there a program that i can edit/create items with, that will allow me to make them better or change them?

also any advice for finding good items? or is it as simple as to keep playing and killing bosses?


sorry if these questions seem incredibly noobish, but i just dont know much about the game!

Let's see, Battle.net has 2 "modes" for Diablo II, these are OPEN and CLOSED.
CLOSED is what most people play, characters are saved in battle.net servers and there is no way to edit your stats/items, this is what you access when you press "Battle.net" in the main screen.
OPEN is a place where you host your own games (while CLOSED games are hosted on battle.net servers aswell as the character info) and play with your singleplayer characters, so this means you can edit your characters and items. This is why, on open, everyone is so hacked up that someone legit can't even "see" them coming in a duel. To access OPEN battle.net you go to multiplayer options or something like that and then battle.net.

To get more info about editors please refer to the Bots & Editors section of these forums. And for info about where to find items you can go to either the Discussion section or the Newbies Only section (no offense about the Newbies Only thing, I just mean that people will treat you "better" in that section).

I think this is more of bnet general discussion... oh well, if your on open bnet just download zonfire. All of your questions will vanish with that. :hxc Search Zonfire here on the forums and download the latest one.
