Ratchet and Clank: Up Your Arsenal is a poonage platform/shooter. Can switch between 1st and 3rd person and the game is pure pwnage online. SOCOM 2 is a pretty good shooter too.

My vote is for Socom II. Its mostly 3rd person though, but it really works out well. I thought I would hate it when I first got it because of the 3rd person view, but I got use to it quick and it soon developed into my 2nd favorite game for the PS2. You'll want to have a internet adapter though, since its mostly an online game.

if u had an XBOX, we'd al tell you Halo so if u want a good shooter, get an Xbox and get halo or Halo2 (halo2 on normal is like Halo1 on heroic)

SOCOM II is all you need to know. While it may not be 1st person its just GOD. But yea you definatly gonna want to get the network adapter for it because it pretty much an online game.

I would get Killzone, it has bots like Red Faction, and I hearde it has the most realistic looking enviroments and weapons for the Ps2.

Also in a while there is Final Fantasy 7: The Dirge of Cerebrus. This is a game set 3 years after Final Fantasy 7. You play as Vincent in a 3rd person shooter.

Get Metal Gear Solid 3, that game kicks much ass. I am at the end of it right now (yeah, I'll finish it so you can borrow it Shattered). You can't mess with Snake.
