Is there a summoning druid guide?

Why would you make a summoning druid? If you want to summon, make a necro. Otherwise make a wind druid or a rabies/fury druid.

summoning druids suck ass for pvp and pvm... unless your gonna tg/nk with a bear

I made a thread about this idea long ago. Nobody said it had to be a strong build, but its fun.

I suppose you'd want to max most of the animals. Bear for sure.. wolves..ravens.. etc. See how your minions are holding up once you're a higher lvl and from there decide on a spirit. If you find they die too fast, life sage is the one you want to go for. If they don't die quick, perhaps you'd want to max the other so they do more damage. Ignore spirit of the barbs though.

Gear? Well.. i'd assume the same as any other caster. Ideally you'd want enigma, hoto, shako, sojs etc. (otherwise get things like vipermagi, wizardspike, que-hagens mage plate, etc..)

Summoning GC's should be cheap, so see if you can get some of those.

i can see how a summoner druid can survive nm, but i cant see it survive hell :\

9 resist/life scs

cant tell u bout skills but i'd max grizzly, both wolves, how, rest creeper or cyclone armor

necros have more than 25 skellys + revives + amp + corpse explosion

druids have bear/wolves+ravens+spirit

druid is owned

pvp summon druids are cheap as hell.. if you have ever dueled them and they just sit in town and summon direwolves and you get owned

ive only dueled one summoner druid before, he just kept casting bear it was really annoying. he'd get people when they had like 12 hp left and go "LOL OGM WTFUX0R PWNT".

well I got my summoning druid to lvl 17 last night and I was kicking some ass. I would join baal run games and then head to the cold planes, after about 4 games or so I was lvl 10 and then started doing trist runs pretty quick. I pwned Griz like no other. I then started a game when I became lvl 15 and ran through most of the act1 quests. I had about 5 people in the game with me, and we went for andy. They were all still fooling around in the small room while I went in straight for her and killed her right before our barb could even take a swing. so far I am having fun. pretty much the build I am going for:

20 in crows
20 in spirit wolves
20 in dire wolves
20 in grizley
20 in Oak Sage or Heart of Wolverine (haven't decided yet, most likeley will be HoW)
1 in carrion vines
1 in prerqs

Heh..summon druids need no gear and need no fcr nor mana nor anything..they also suck ass. :)

lol last night I tore through the sewers, got my cube, and the staff. I also lvled to 20, I guess it's a pretty nexb thing because I didn't know you couldn't have both type of wolves out at the same time. oh well, I am going to keep continuing my adventure cause I still seem to be having no problems. Also does anyone know if crows are affected by HoW?

Level 20? Of course you're not having trouble. You don't realize how effective a char is until Hell. Level 75+.

Also Ravens don't do enough damage to be noticed..they're mainly used for the Hit Blinds Target.

I tried 2 of these builds, one with maxed grizzly and the other the wolves [3].

The build was alright early but once I hit act 3 of NM it became apparent that the summons were too few [I don't count the ravens cuz they their dam is awful] and not strong enough. The only way I really made it through to hell [and then stopped because I couldn't kill anything and was getting bum rushed too often] was by getting an item with AMP curse charges and some melee gear to help fight.

Meh, try it if you want, but it really doesn't work in hell.

Plus Necro summoners just pwn the monsters.

EDIT: If you get blood raven bow [revives] and something with amp charges then maybe...but I'm not trying it now.

umm i think spirit of the barbs would be pretty useful against melee attackers, u can keep summoning things they can hit and they will kill themselves, just invest 1 pt into this. thats my opinion. :umm
