yeah. i got that Grand Theft Auto San Andreas game recently. it worked fine for the first 2 weeks of playing it. but now every time i put the disc in the ps2 starts to clack and i have to wack it to make it read. is there any solution to this? or should i just buy a new ps2 when the ps3 comes out?

I have to do the same thing to my Final Fantasy 10 game but my ps2 plays ever other game just fine.

Keep whacking the PS2. ALl else fails, go buy a new one. They're like 100$ now.

The clacking sound... god I hate it. Is the disc in good shape?
But yeah... whacking it is still your best option. They're not that hard to come by now, though it might set you back a little pocket change for a while. If it does that for only one game, then maybe it is the disc itself?

yeah. my old ps2 was crap. it broke my first used copy of san andreas. o well. $120 dollars for a new ps2, and $20 for another used copy of san andreas. anyway, the 2 player didn't work on my old one so i think its good i finally have a decent reason to get a new one.
