Interesting theory about winning the lottery.

Everyone wants to win the lottery, and most everybody knows the chances of winning one of the most profitable lotteries (The Powerball) are so small that you have a better chance of getting nailed by lightning.

Well earlier today I though of an idea to possibly win the Powerball a whole lot easier and, with a discussion with Renzokuken, came up with this:

Have a freind in Austrailia go on any website that displays that Countries Powerball numbers, record them down, and call the friend in the U.S with them. The people in Australia are around a day ahead of those in the U.S so theoretically why can't they let us know what happens tomorrow today. I know it sounds farfetched but could it possibly work?

(Oh and for the record, I'm pretty sure its just a bullshit theory and wouldn't work, but I need to know for certain...)

I'm not sure I understood that right, sorry. Your saying you can't tell what hasn't happened? Wll technically hasn't it happened for someone in Australia or somewhere like that?

are you sure they dont have different numbers in australia/whatnot? if they dont, they probably delay/whatever showing the numbers in whichever time-zone until the buying period for that lottery has passed.

they prolly post the #s if internationally at ONE time say midnight at 0(grenich mean time??) they also close the selling of those slips and they are dated and time marked i think so u cant cheat that way.just guessing here

Australia doesn't see what happens a day before we do, their day just starts earlier than ours. If someone draws for a lottery at 6:00 pm here (eastern), its going to happen at the same time in australia, ~8:00 am in australia. It happened at the same time, it's just not viewed as the same time. Don't if that make sense.

Or

the lotterys are a state based thing. How would someone in australia know the results for something that happened in south carolina half a day before south carolina wakes up and draws for their lottery
