Yo if my merc uses infinity, will the immune go away?(cause of conviction)
like would my fire sorc be able to kill fire immune?

Yes, it can break immunities.

If you have a level 15 conviction (-100%) and it goes on a fire immune it will break its immunity and give -100%/5= -20% to the enemy's resist.
