I'm a noob to the new d2, whats a hate key?

help me out. i havnet played since like 1.09.

Hate key is one of the 3 keys that were released in patch 1.11 recently. They are spawned from countess, summoner, and nithaklak.

You need 1 of each key (hate, terror, destruction) to make a portal to fight uber izual, Lilith (andy clone), or Uber duriel. Each of the 3 bosses drops a body part, with 3 body parts, you create the portal to tristram. They are very hard.

considering you are from .09, you probably don't know about synergies. Veiw the guides the Strategies section for a more updated approach to making a good (cookie cutter) build.

well put johnny just want to add that you have a 1/34 chance of finding the keys

Synergies will allow you to make crappy skills into super godly damage spells. Most casters take good advantage of them. Liek for example, if you want Fireball sorc: You max out Fire Bolt and Meteor to put 14% more fire damage into Fireball/lvl. So if you have 20 firebolt and metoer, Fireball does 2(1.14(20)) X Fire Mastery X Fireball Damage.
