November 19, 2004 - Did you ever wonder what was happening in Los Santos prior to the events of Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas? Were you ever curious as to what Sweet, Big Smoke, and Ryder were up to before the Orange Grove Families reunited with CJ's return? Well starting this Tuesday, November 23, you'll be able to find out when the official Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas double CD soundtrack hits stores all over the country. You're not going to be getting this information because of the music included on the set either, but rather, an exclusive cinematic DVD that's been included as part of the package.
At a suggested retail price of $21.95, the Double CD set features a cross section of musical tracks that were featured throughout San Andreas and includes songs from bands such as Rage Against the Machine, Cypress Hill, and Public Enemy (for a complete track listing Visit IGN Music's Comprehensive Story). There's even a disc-exclusive cover track by AFI of Nine Inch Nails' "Head Like A Hole" that you won't be able to find anywhere else. But as was mentioned earlier, however, the coolest and most intriguing set bonus is the 22-minute cinematic prequel known as simply as "The Introduction."
Set just a few days before the game first begins, "The Introduction" is told via the various viewpoints of several important characters. Through this interweaving of perspectives, fans will be able to grasp the sheer level of corruption that's infested the LSPD thanks to Officer Tenpenny's masterminding and come to understand the history behind the Grove Street Families. Watchers will also learn how the rift between Sweet and his brother CJ first came about, and catch up with supporting characters like Ken Rosenberg and Boss Leone.
