Why don't the admin do some "Spring cleaning" and delete all accounts with under a certain number of posts, and with a last activity date beyond a certain point? Would help get rid of a lot of the clutter in the userlist.

In that case we should support hacks MORE, get more single digit number posters and get lots more advertisement.

We should clean out users that are not active.
What if someone wants to register with a certain name and its taken by someone who isn't active at all. Hasn't posted but 1 post in the last year. That name should be up for grabs.
