Well, the control is basically the same, but you view the action from an over-the-shoulder perspective (which for a RE veteran like me, is kind of weird at first), but yeah, I've played it for about an hour and a half, and I haven't had to backtrack, or solve one box puzzle, or anything like that.
The term "Survival-Horror" doesn't even really apply to the game anymore, it's more like "Here's a Shotgun With Fifty Rounds Now Blow Everything Away-Horror".
The graphics are basically mind-blowing as well; while they lack the immediate "holy-shit" factor of the GC exclusive RE games, they are amazing, and in full 3-D.
So. Although I may be a bit biased, being a RE fanatic and all, I give this game my highest recommendation, and I think even people who didn't like the series before will like this game.
After I've had some more time with the game this weekend, (hell, I'll probably beat it) I'll give a more in-depth review.
