I THINK ive made up my mind.....

Well heres the deal. I am a Boy scout, and thats cool, i mean i get to shoot guns and hang out wit friends and mess wit fire, but Ive recently been going for my eagle scout, and several points about the system have REALLY turned me off to the whole operation:

1-ITs too damn beauraucratic, and takes months for anything to get thru

2-parents are getting mad cuz its taking me so long

3-NOONE returns phone calls

4-Its affecting my performance in school, due to the time i have to take to fill out paperwork

5-Its stopped being fun a couple years ago, but i continued in hopes of getting something to put on college resume

6-its a source of neverending stress, as i constantly contemplate the effect the latest news from scouts will have on the anger level of my parents.

So Ive decided to quit....plain and simple.....im sick of the bullshit, and as far as the taunts that are inevitable from my dad......**** it......its more than worth it to get this scout crap over with..

My friend went through with it, got his eagle scout whatever deal thing. He had the same GPA as I do and lower SAT scores then me (he had a 2.5 GPA, and a 1200 on teh SAT's), and still got into some good colleges because of the eagle scout thing. theres no way I'm getting accepted with a 2.9 GPA and 1260 on teh SAT's and get into the same schools.

What exactly, warrants "good colleges, whip"? all the counselors/college students that i meet say eagle scout dont count for much..

When i was in boyscouts the leader guy said you should never let anyone touch your private parts and we were celebrating a kids birthday and we were all eating cake..and right after he was done making his speech..he dropped cake on my crouch and started wipe it off...

the whole idea sounds pretty lame to me, i rember i got kicked out of cub scouts or something in like 2nd grade cuzz i kicked some kids ass that was in it.

I was gona say that. Isn't a 1260 good on the SAT?? Unless I'm mistaken, You are a HUGE slacker MisterWhippy. I get a 3.3 and I am projected to get something high on the SAT.

how do you find a gpa? We don't use them here. Oh and I was in beavers when I was like 6 but I quit (beavers is like pre-scouts)
