I need help with GUedit

I just got GUedit and i did all the stuff like changed the colors but when i save it and get on the map. The colors are all the same and everything is not changed. What in the hell is happening. Can someone help me.?

do not save over the old version, save it somewhere else, and put the .scx after the maps name.
example: bob's kickazz map.scx
than trying playing it

Once you saved the map with the colors, Don't open it under any other editor or it will go back to normal colors.
