I'm sure. Though from what I heard FFIV was just a remake of FFI, and FFV was a remake of FFII and FFVI was redone FFIII
Sorry, I just have to correct this atrocity (I know you havn't played em).
Final Fantasy I - On Famicom, ported to PSX and GBA as FF: Origins and Dawn of Souls, repsectively.
Final Fantasy II - Same as above.
Final Fantasy III - Only for the Famicom, never released in the US, but a DS port has been anounced for 2005.
Final Fantasy IV - Originally released on the Super Famicom, ported later to the PSX on Final Fantasy Chronicles. I won't get into the different versions of it here, as there are 3 and it confuses people still =/
Final Fantasy V - Originally released on the Super Famicom, ported to the PSX on Final Fantasy Anthologies.
Final Fantasy VI - Same as above.
Now, that is the Japanese roster, and people often get them confused, and here is why:
Final Fantasy I - NES title, same as FFI Japan.
Final Fantasy II - Released in America on the SNES, this in actuallity is Final Fantasy IV 'Easy Type'.
Final Fantasy III - Released in America on the SNES, this is actually Final Fantasy VI.
Up untill the PSX ports, this was the NA roster. the NES final fantasy II and III, along with the SNES final fantasy V, were never released in their original forms in america, so IV and VI became II and III, respectively.
Then there is the issue of FFIV. There were 3 different versions of this game, of varying difficulties and content.
There was the original FFVI for Super Famicom, also known as FFVI 'Hard Type'. This version is the hardest of the 3, but the original.
Next came FFII, or FFIV 'Easy Type'. This version was dumbed down a bit in difficulty for the 'less hardcore' NA audience.
Finally, we have the PSX port of FFIV, which isn't as hard as the Hard Type FFIV, but definately not as easy as FFII. There were names/items/monsters/treasures/translations changed and updated to the game, and loading times aside, this version is probably the best.
Hope that clears up the confusion ^_^
Oh, and FFXI isn't gay, it's just not for people with short attention spans, like EQ and other grind MMOs. WoW has desensitized the MMO community -_-'
